{"id":137,"date":"2013-02-19T15:21:59","date_gmt":"2013-02-19T23:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncallprayer.org\/blog\/kindness-matters"},"modified":"2013-05-28T08:07:32","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T16:07:32","slug":"kindness-matters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncallprayer.org\/blog\/kindness-matters","title":{"rendered":"Kindness Matters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was driving down the road\u00c2\u00a0the other day and stopped\u00c2\u00a0behind a car that had a small sign (but was the size of a bill board in my heart)\u00c2\u00a0that\u00c2\u00a0said\u00c2\u00a0 . . . . <em><strong>Kindness Matters.<\/strong><\/em>\u00c2\u00a0WOW. What a simple but profound truth!\u00c2\u00a0 I said to myself . . . I do not ever want to forget those\u00c2\u00a0simple sobering\u00c2\u00a0words -\u00c2\u00a0Kindness Matters!<\/p>\n<p>Are we really kind . . . . kind to the\u00c2\u00a0teenager\u00c2\u00a0taking our order at the fast food restaurant who forgets\u00c2\u00a0the catsup for our french fies; kind to the lady checking in our clothes at the dry cleaners; kind to the grocery checker who may be a single mom working long hours to feed her family or a\u00c2\u00a0student sacking groceries earning money for school? Are we\u00c2\u00a0kind to our boss and our co-workers?\u00c2\u00a0 How kind are we\u00c2\u00a0to each other in the\u00c2\u00a0Board Meeting as\u00c2\u00a0we make\u00c2\u00a0important\u00c2\u00a0decisions?\u00c2\u00a0 How kind are we\u00c2\u00a0to others at church?\u00c2\u00a0 And the list goes on and on.<\/p>\n<p>And as it related to\u00c2\u00a0ministry\u00c2\u00a0we should\u00c2\u00a0certainly demonstrate\u00c2\u00a0kindness in the way we treat each other.\u00c2\u00a0We must\u00c2\u00a0remember that a ministry is not a business and\u00c2\u00a0the volunteers are not our employees.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures say a lot\u00c2\u00a0about kindness: &#8220;<em><span id=\"en-NIV-29185\" class=\"text Gal-5-22\">But the fruit<sup value=\"(&lt;a href=\" class=\"crossreference\" title=\"See cross-reference A\"><\/sup> of the Spirit is love,<sup value=\"(&lt;a href=\" class=\"crossreference\" title=\"See cross-reference B\"><\/sup> joy, peace,<sup value=\"(&lt;a href=\" class=\"crossreference\" title=\"See cross-reference C\"><\/sup> forbearance, <strong>kindness<\/strong>, goodness, faithfulness,<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-29186\" class=\"text Gal-5-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\"><font size=\"2\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/font><\/sup>gentleness and self-control.<sup value=\"(&lt;a href=\" class=\"crossreference\" title=\"See cross-reference D\"><\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0Gal. 5:22-23.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"passage version-NIV result-text-style-normal text-html \"><span class=\"text Gal-5-23\"><strong>Let&#8217;s make a decision to be kind today.\u00c2\u00a0 It really does matter!\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was driving down the road\u00c2\u00a0the other day and stopped\u00c2\u00a0behind a car that had a small sign (but was the size of a bill board in my heart)\u00c2\u00a0that\u00c2\u00a0said\u00c2\u00a0 . . . .
