“Lord, I am here.\u00c2\u00a0 . . .here on the Mount of Olives. \u00c2\u00a0If You<\/strong> would to return right now, that would be just fine<\/strong> with me!”<\/strong><\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 These are the words I found myself praying as I stood on that mountain\u00c2\u00a0– realizing that was the very place our Lord will\u00c2\u00a0return. (Zech. 14:3-5, Matt. 24:2-4)<\/p>\n

Our trip to Israel far <\/em>exceeded our expectations.\u00c2\u00a0We toured several cities to\u00c2\u00a0include Tel Aviv,<\/strong> Jerusalem<\/strong>, and Bethlehem.<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0We stood in\u00c2\u00a0the Caesarea Theatre<\/strong> where the chariot races took place and\u00c2\u00a0on Mount<\/strong> Mikado<\/strong> – where the Battle of Armageddon<\/strong> will be fought. That was a very sobering thought\u00c2\u00a0and view. We also visited the church where Jesus turned the water into wine.\u00c2\u00a0 The\u00c2\u00a0boat ride\u00c2\u00a0on the Sea of Galilee<\/strong> was an incredible\u00c2\u00a0experience as we\u00c2\u00a0looked out at\u00c2\u00a0the same landscape\u00c2\u00a0Jesus and the disciples saw. You will remember that this is\u00c2\u00a0where He walked on the water. We saw\u00c2\u00a0the temple where Jesus preached\u00c2\u00a0when the paralyzed man was\u00c2\u00a0was lowered through the roof described in Mark 2:4;\u00c2\u00a0 saw the City of David,<\/strong> and David’s tomb.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>One day\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>on the tour bus\u00c2\u00a0we\u00c2\u00a0drove past the tomb of Rachel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a beautiful day\u00c2\u00a0when we gathered under the shade trees at the Mount of Beatitudes<\/strong> and\u00c2\u00a0sat\u00c2\u00a0on\u00c2\u00a0the rocks (possibly the same rocks where the disciples sat.) The is where Jesus preached one of the most important sermons in His ministry.\u00c2\u00a0Tom Dooley\u00c2\u00a0read His Words from Matthew 5- The Beatitudes.<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 Imaging what it must have been like that day 2000 years ago and the reality of\u00c2\u00a0just where we were -\u00c2\u00a0was\u00c2\u00a0a\u00c2\u00a0highlight of the trip.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
